The “CarbRite Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars” are a good choice for those seeking low carb snacks. Being a type 2 diabetic, I am always looking for low carb products that taste good. Here are my observations:
Pros:
+ Good Tasting; these are not candy bars and the peanut butter flavor is subtle, but they taste much better than most other “low carb” bars I have tried
+ Low Carb; only 2.5 NET carbs, but a lot of the other carbs come from Maltitol (see “Cons”, below)
+ High Protein; 21g per bar
+ Very Filling; unlike a lot of other low carb snacks, these bars are actually fairly filling (likely due to the high protein content)
Cons:
- Contains Maltitol, which can cause “gastric distress” in some people – start of with small amounts if you don’t know it will affect your system
Misc:
* 190 Calories per bar
* Chewy Consistency
Overall, these bars are a satisfying low carb snack choice that have a good flavor and do not significantly impact my blood sugar levels.
Recommended! There are several flavors made by CarbRite and I also like Doctor’s CarbRite Diet Sugar Free Bar, Chocolate Brownie, 2-Ounce Bars (Pack of 12)

Okay, I have been living low-carb for about 4 months now. The hardest thing for me is avoiding “sweets” like ice cream and chocolate candy when the cravings come. This bar is by FAR the most brownie-like moist bar I’ve ever come across. I eat it for a snack/in combination with salad etc (if as meal replacement) when I’m craving chocolate…yum! It is a great protein source, and is not dry and healthy tasting. I love this bar, the cookie dough, and the lemon meringue by CarbRite.

I was on the hunt for a protein bar with tons of protein but not too many calories. Most protein bars with this much protein (20g) have 300-400cal. I wanted something with less than 200cal. Most of the protein bars with less than 200 cal have 15g or less of protein. This gives the most protein with the least calories that I could find.
The taste is very good. The Chocolate Brownie flavor kind of tastes like a Little Debbie brownie, only not as sweet. Cookie Dough is my favorite–it really tastes like chocolate chip cookie dough. S’mores is my least favorite–it doesn’t really taste like s’mores. They all have a good, chewy texture. I would have preferred them to be a little sweeter, but I tend to like my sweets to be pretty sweet. I enjoyed eating them.
I will definitely buy these again.

I usually enjoy most sugar-free foods or food items made with artificial sweeteners but this product is absolutely terrible! Very bitter tasting and a funny white film on the outer “chocolate” coating of the bar. Nothing about this bar tasted like Coconut or anything resembling that. There were a few tiny bits of what I think was coconut but they few and far between to be able to call this “Toasted Coconut”.
I also purchased a box of the Cookie Dough flavor too and it also was bitter and had a weird white coating on it as well. Bad aftertaste for both of them too! Would not recommend!

These bars take some getting used to. They are VERY chewy and if you live in a warm climate they will arrive slightly melted everytime and need some fridge time to set back up. Flavors are OK (I like lemon and cookie dough), at first they seem weird but after a few bars you get used to them. They are better than some other “diet” bars out there.
